Izula Strike

Damn, you guys are scaring me ;). My H.E.S.T. should be here later this week, and I'm dreading some inadvertent sacrifice of my blood to the Great God ESEE in order to join this club. Does this happen just one time or each time someone acquires a new ESEE knife :D?

That sounds bad. I wrap a lot of handles. Guess I should watch out for that sort of surprise. Thanks for the heads up.

I actually managed to cord wrap my Izula without being bitten, but...

Last week I got bit by it while I was oiling it. Tiny cut to index finger. Hurt like hell at the time, but the edge is so sharp the cut closed up real fast and only bled a little. Healed in just over two days.

Long experience has shown me that the old saying "You don't really own a knife until it bites you" is true.

Welcome to the Club... we do need a wall of shame. I haven't cut myself with a knife since I was 10 and my Grandfather told me not to play with the cheap folders at a carnival/flea market. I didn't listen and sliced open my index finger pretty bad.

The Izula was resting in its plastic home when it bit me. I tugged and it jumped out and bit me.

Honestly, mine was all due to a simple loss of concentration for a second. I put my thumb up off the sheath and I pulled on the paracord with my other hand and BITE.

Good news the stitches are out!!!! Now I have those sticky stitches for a couple of days and they should wash out.

Need to add TAPE BLADE WHILE CORD WRAPING to the FAQs

good idea

Better yet NEVER wrap handle with blade exposed !!!

Always leave it in the sheath when you wrap it, that sheath is designed to protect you and the knife !!!

Rob

problem is, seems the knife jumps out for a bite when you're tightening the wrap at the very end. that's when it always happens. tape's a little more secure for wrapping.

gotcha.. well I've stabbed my right hand ring finger tendon in march processing wood (without gloves and teaching kids how to obtain dry inner wood in snow).. never without gloves again period, my finger is still damaged..

I guess I'll be taping mine the next go..
