I have been trying to decide which of the two to get, so I got both. Here are the positives and negatives of each I have come up with so far.

Izula Pros:
Smaller sheath with better fit
Jimping on top blade
Better grip

Izula Cons:
Smaller blade

Becker Necker Pros:
Longer blade
Emergency bottle opener?

Becker Necker Cons:
Poor fitting sheath (rattles)
No gimping
Not so comfortable grip

So far I think im leaning more towards the Izula...

I like the Becker better as well and that rattling sheath can be fixed in about 30 seconds for $0.00. Just cut a small square from an inner tube and glue it in the throat of the sheath. Bingo - no more rattle.

That was a big deal to me too - I use a longbow to hunt deer so I need to be quiet enough to get within 20 yards or so.

I own both and like the Izula better. I find the handle shape on the Izula much more comfortable and the blade shape more useful. Both great knives but the izula is my EDC;)

Someone had the brilliant idea to breed the two. You might look at the eskabar: an Izula's handle on a Becker Necker's blade.

Even at twice the cost, I'd still pay extra for the ESEE quality and warranty, but with some shopping around, you can find an izula within $10-15 of the Becker. Not that the Becker quality is bad,by any means, I just find ESEE to be really, really good. Ergos uber alles, IMHO.

Absolutely agree with you, I'm not trying to say the necker is better, I'm just saying that for that price, it's a pretty good neck knife. I'd like to try both of them when I have the money:p

I've never used the Izula, but I used the Becker a lot on a camping trip once and got a mean blister on my index finger... I would try the Izula before using that Becker again.

It's actually a pro in my book, less weight, smaller print, easier to conceal plus it falls under 3" WA state law.

3 1/2" for WA state, and I'm fairly certain that you can open carry any size you want; it's just a matter of how much attention you want. I carry the ESKabar EDC concealed. Not worried about it. So far I love that little knife.

Have had an Izula II for the past month. I cannot compare the necker, as I've never handled one, but the Izula is a heckuva knife!

Good post, I was wondering the same thing. Except BK14 vs. Izula, Gonna get both I think. You can never have too many blades.

I was lucky and picked up the original Becker Necker years ago. The original sheath is much better. Tight fit and no noise.

I own both. I like both. ;o)

I made a wraping with paracord on each of them. The Izula fits better in my hand. I have big hands. So the handle of the BeckerNecker is not as good, because my hands are a little bit too big for this. The round end of the Izula handle is very good.

The carbon steel on the Izula and the BeckerNecker is both very good to sharpen.

For cutting is the BeckerNecker because of the blade geometry better. The Izula doesn´t cut, it breaks more than cutting.

The sheath of the BeckerNecker is clapping. The Izula sheath keeps the knife very strong.

I hope I could help You a little...

Kind regards!
