Hi all. I usually lurk in W&SS, but I thought I'd pay you guys a visit. I was set on buying the Izula, but then I found the Tiger Knapp by Blind Horse Knives, and now I'm torn. I was wondering whether anyone could offer a comparison. Thanks! :)

Both made in the USA and BHK are great guys as well.... Cant go wrong with either one.... get one of each.....

I really like the design of a lot of the Blind Horse Knives but most of them seem to be 4140 steel at 52 - 55 HRC. Don't really know much about that steel but the Rockwell hardness is a bit of a turn off :grumpy:

Rat's 1095 is awesome

I don't have the Tiger Knapp but I do own a Patch knife from BHK. Never used it much. If the steel and hardness bothers you, get the small Workhorse, it's pretty similar as design and it's made of D2. I like and use the Izula a lot more, though. I'll post some comparison pics in the morning.

The BHK's make some great knives. The bushcrafter received some excellent reviews on W&SS, including good reviews from the 'hard asses' like JeffH. He's hardass because he tells it like he sees it and he loved his.

The tiger knap is a pretty cool little knife. Doesn't look to have the same ergo's as the izula, but it costs $20. Hard for me to imagine that the OP has to make an either or decision on this one. $20 here, $50 there. Hell, my wife's haircuts cost $60. I think the BHK is a little more dressier an has the cool factor going for it. The Izula has better steel and functionality.

Blind Horse is first class and we're proud to call them friends. By the BH first, buy the Izula later ;)

I can't speak for the BH, although I know their reputation is great..But, I love my Izula! It's a great little knife. :) I don't even use the Becker Necker anymore. Good luck!

Kinda apples and oranges really.

Same function, very different styles.

Go with the style and design that appeals to you the most.

Get both, and see which one you like better :)

If I were to pick one, it would be the Izula, however, I have no doubt that both will perform.

I have the Izula and both sizes of the Tiger Knapp. 3 very different knives. 3 very good knives.:thumbup:

If you have the money for an Izula, you should get that first. If you don't think get a BHK. I plan on getting a Tiger here soon.

Here you go. Large Workhorse, Small Workhorse and Izula. Bunch of really great knives but very different styles indeed.

How are those Workhorse knives? I've had my eye on them for sometime now.

Like Jeff said, the Blind Horse folks (L.T. and Dan) are great people.

I have a BHK Small Work Horse and absolutely love it.

Thanks a ton guys! The Workhorse looks great, but I don't really have the funds right now =[ I'll probably get the Tiger Knapp eventually, but I've decided I want to try out the Izula first.

Your pic was the thing that made me look into BHK. I think I first saw it in May somewhere in the photothread. Ended up buying a few of them.
Thanks bro! :)
