Izula w/ micarta

Thanks for the kind word guys. Actually these are just temporary scales.
I had some old scales off a Tops TB scout laying around so I figured I would shape them for the Izula to use as a pattern. I am thinking about maybe making some of these for others since Jeff and the guys have so many irons in the fire. I have to order some supplies, make a few more and see how it goes. I'll keep you guys updated as things progress. This gives the Izula a completely different feel, in a good way.

The hole in the front is there because I ran out of hex screws.
The tang holes were left unfilled for now.
No washer in the pommel ring yet, but there will be to help stabilize the scales.

That'd be sweet if you did. I'd be grateful if you kept me in mind, along with the others that posted an interest in scales, like FortytwoBlades, if/when you do make some extras up for sale.

Cheers!

For pictures of Izula w/ scales

The scales I did are much more slimline than Tknife's. The slim scales still make pocket carry a viable option. Also, the hex screws make for easy removal if you want to go back skeletonized. I will probably have some at the Oct. gathering for people to check out and see how they feel. I am thinking of going with slotted screws instead of hex screws for more convenient removal.

And Tex.TD, you can never have too many Izulas. :D

I really like the way those two knives look with scales. I'd be interested in buying some. (It also gives me an excuse to get another Izula, hehehe.)

Wait you need a excuse!? I want a black one! TA-DA, there's your excuse. ;)

I thin it would be great to be able to get scales for the Izula like that.

That looks great. There are a lot of possibilities here. I've got some bamboo sitting around...

It looks like a totally different knife, but in a complimentary way. Awesome. Btw, is that blade uncoated? It looks cool too. I wonder what it would look like with thin wood scales...
