IZULA's @ KSF !

Just wondering why the decision to go with injection molded over kydex. I guess it's a cost of manufacture/price point thing?

Molded sheaths are a lot more accurate than hand formed kydex. We have some ideas we are going to implement on this sheath at a later time so we wanted to go molded.

I think we are going to see some cool ideas from izula sheath users. I already have a few ideas in my mind. Its definitely a cool design.

I am intrigued. I was wondering why one side of the sheath looks different.

WOO HOO Ordered full kit Izula Black :D

Now the only waiting I will be doing is for the mail!

Oh man, I can not wait !!

The reason one side looks different is so the sheath would be the same thickness across the width. The "boss" was built up on the edge side of the sheath so it keeps the attachment device parallel with the centerline of the sheath. This will also come into play when we make our future quick connect / disconnect mounting system. That way it will be fully ambidextrous.

While the sheath may seem "simple" there was a lot of thought and a lot of engineering that went into this, not to mention a lot of chip cutting time. And it's made in the USA and not some import sheath.

I really like the design. Thats why I went with the whole kit instead of just Knife, sheath. I wanted all the goodies to mess with the perfect way to make the sheath work for me.
