Hey folks, i want to get my dad a new blade for xmas, I already gave him the RC4 and he likes it alot. I have the Izzy and he borrows it sometimes, but i was wondering about getting him one of these others so we dont both have the same and we could try out a different design. Does anyone here have any of these and if so whats your likes and dislikes as far as comparison with the Izzy.
Thanks for all your help and hope all is well.

Definitely the Izula II. It may only look slightly different than the original, but they way it feels in the hands is....amazing.

I say ESKabar, best of both worlds. Izzy handle, Becker blade, and the blade is a little longer. I love mine, and don't go anywhere without it.

I'd say the Izula II due to the full scales but you can't go wrong with any of the necker style knives you named

Hi Moose, does the Eskabar have the Izzy or Izzy2 handle. Also did you ever try the BK11?

It has the Izzy handle. Yes, here, lemme show you,

I used just my ESKabar to make a bow drill kit in this tutorial,

My search fu was strong, I found a thead where 1 person said he got a lopsided grind. I have no reason to doubt him, but he posted no pics, and never said another word about it other than the OP. So, not sure. The ones I got are absolutely awesome, one of my favorite knives. My EDC has been through the mill and is still going stong. I did strip, sharpen, polish, and patina'd it. Good to go. YMMV

Oh ok, well that may have been it, which is why I asked a Becker nerd before spreading misinformation. :foot: :D

It's a great place to start for sure. Beckerheads and RAT Packers go together like ham and cheese, peanut butter and jelly, Jeff and psycho women. All this bugaboo and hoopla is alot of fun, and can be done, only because of the people involved. Great folks every one.

I can't totally speak for the Becker's, don't own them, but I've handled both.

I do own the original Izula and a Izula-II. In basic design the Izula-1 is closer obviously to the Eskabar. BK11... more distantly similar except for the grip.

That said, I really enjoyed my regular Izula and held off on getting the Izzy-2 because I didn't think the changes were that significant. But, I of course caved and bought one.

Big improvement over the regular Izula. You wouldn't think just that extra half inch of grip and full scales would make such a huge difference but they do. I absolutely love this knife and have not touched the Izula-1 since.

Nothing wrong with the Becker's..they're good knives, but the Izula-II would without question be a hit in my opinion.
