Received my first custom from J. and Tess, ordered from a picture on their website, www.mountainhollow.net. Well worth waiting for and for the money spent the value that I received is much, much greater than expected. J. was great to work with, I changed a few things, he was very accommodating, made suggestions that will increase my pleasure in owning this knife and others I will be ordering. Now, is this your first custom, or your first from J. and Tess? I worry for you if this is truly your first custom, because you've been spoiled. Kinda' like your first kiss being hottest girl in school--the ones that follow have their charm but always a tough time living up.

T1mpani, this is my first custom...I'm just loving it..carrying it around the house, fondling and carressing it. You see I never was able to get that kiss or anything else from the hottie in school so I plan on making up for it and J. and Tess are going to help. You are right on about their workmanship!!! Ah, it's as I feared. Well, take heart--there's some tremendous makers who hang out around here. Don't ask me where all the hot girls hang out, though.
Congratulations--I know you're going to enjoy it immensely. Be warned, though...the farther you delve into the custom world the harder it is to ever be interested in production again.

I am not surprised another person has found out about J. and Tess and had a good experience with them.
I don't believe I took the opportunity last year to post about my experience with J.. He made a beautiful custom knife for me as well, and the knife and the leather were works of art.
J. is the nicest person and one of the luckiest guys I can think of. He has tremendous talent, has a beautiful, talented wife who works by his side, lives in a beautiful area of the country and gets to make knives for a living!

Thanks for all the great comments guys, it helps to have great folks to work with and our customers have been some of the best. I believe good customers have made me a better maker. Everything said about Tess is true by the way, she's a hell of a good cook, too.
