Custom handmade slipjoint folder by J.H. Lloyd of Missouri. John is turning out super quality knives these days at unmatched modest prices.
This is John's rendition of the famous T.Bose pattern,the "Lanny's Clip" . Full sized curved jack/trapper frame ,with stout clip blade with a saber grind styling.
Measures 4-1/8" closed,has a blade of 3-1/8" & 2-7/8" of cutting edge. Opened up it measures 7.25".
This one has vintage micarta. Linen micarta known as "antique Gold" ,it will change color with time. Fancy arrowhead shield is inlaid & pinned,ss. Liners are mill relieveed & ss. The bolster (ss) has that nice pocket friendly radius at the front & John's beveled front edge is really nice. Thin knife for it's size. Hollow ground blade,grind is really nice. Crescent nail pull,and cut swedge. Satin finish & wicked sharp.
Pull is a smooth snappy 5 to 5+. Spring is flush in all half stop positions,blade centers nicely. I can pluck it open. The blade & spring are 52100 carbon,ball bearing steel. I have personally tested John's 52100 blades & they easily take a keen edge but hold it better than you'd expect. I was quite surprised of the super performance of these blades. This is quite a great knife for the asking price.

Knife ships with a padded zipper storage case.
