Hi guys.
I need to thin the herd a bit. I like all of these knives, but i just find myself reaching for another knife.
1) J. Hoover Nordic Knife - i just recently purchased this from Joe. I had him put a stacked birch bark handle on it. it is a beautiful knife. it has a nice tapered tang and it is lazer sharp. but, i have another knife in almost the same size that i prefer slightly.
Steel: 52100 X 1/8 approximately
OAL: 8 1/2"
Blade Length: 4 1/8"+
Handle: stacked birch bark (i consider the handle to have slight gaps in the birch bark, though i have never owned another stacked birch knife to compare to. it still feels great, but i wanted to mention as an fyi)
sheath: leather from maker. this is the nicest sheath i have seen in person. the tooling is outstanding.
condition: almost brand new. i just paid $160 for this just a couple weeks ago. i have cut some fruit and potatoes with it (it's a good slicer). a slight patina has formed (just minor discoloration really).
price: SOLD! $115
2) JK Knives EWOK - John just recently did a final run of these EWOKS. mine is #6 (of 10). This is a fantastic little knife. I have used it a bit around the house. but, i have decided that i would carry a slightly larger knife.
Steel: 1/8" O1
OAL: 6 1/4"
Blade Length: 2 1/2"
Handle: tan micarta
sheath: leather by me. i.e. homemade.
condition: used, but in good condition.
price: SOLD! $115
3) JK Knives Custom - it has John's semi-wharncliffe blade and his kephart-style handle. the handle is probably the most comfortable of all the knives i own. i really love this knife. however, i just received a new JK knife that i expect will end up being my go-to.
Steel: 1/8" O1
OAL: 7 3/4"
Blade Length: 3 3/4"
Handle: mahogany over black micarta liners and pins
sheath: leather from maker
condition: used, but not abused. some patina. you can see that there is some (perhaps) pine pitch on the distal end of the blade. i'm sure it could be polished off, if you wish.
price: $115
4) Mike Morehouse Mini-Bushcraft. i ordered this from Mike. it was my EDC for a couple weeks. i liked it a lot. one of my favorite "little knives" i've ever had the chance to use.
(i do not have the order messages any more so some of the specs below are my best guess. but, i believe they are correct)
Steel: 1/8" 1095
OAL: 6 5/8"
Blade Length: 2 3/4"
Handle: black canvas micarta
sheath: leather by maker
condition: used, but not abused. some patina.
price: SOLD! $75
