J. Williams on woodsmonkey!

Thanks man, glad you enjoyed it. Exposure is a very in depth subject, I couldve rattled on and on forever. I thought the main points were covered well. Glad to hear it from someone else though!!

I will be contributing regular first aid articles and product reviews over there, as well as some other fun stuff.

Its a great site, and im glad to be able to contribute.

Thanks guys. Anything you guys wanna see first aid wise?

J,

Thought it was a good article. I was glad to see you mentioned hydration even in cold weather.

I always stress hydration well before you need it - by the time you feel thirsty or dehydrated you are way behind the curve. Hydration is an active and ongoing process. A majority of people are usually dehydrated to some degree. Even mild dehydration affects mental processes.

For first aid, what about construction/application of basic splints? Sprained ankles in wilderness maybe.

Im starting to look at movment and extrication of injured, that could be worked in nicely.

Well, Gunknifenut was asking about how to prevent/treat genital warts from all his bestial woods encounters...

:D

Seriously, great article, Jake!

Actually, on a similar note, I have a condition doctors refer to as arborphilia. Sadly it's left me with some precariously placed splinters. Any way you could put up a bit of a 'how to' on delicate removal of these?

Thanks in advance Jake....

Ok, I finished my article for you two.

Keep it in your pants.:D:p

Great article Jake! Aside from Brian's concern over genital warts:D...some good first aid articles I think would be helpful:

Dealing with lacerations/cuts; irrigating, stopping the bleeding, bandaging

Diarrhea...no joke; good over the counter remedies/natural remedies; hydration

Dealing with burns (mild, campfire burns)

Sprains/breaks; applying splints/binds, etc.

Treating a victim in shock

Assessing and dealing with venomous bites/stings

Just a few off the top of my head. Looking forward to some more write ups!
