Recommendation? Jack of all fixed blade

I second the White River suggestion. They have a few blades that may fit the bill. Also, LT Wright. He’s out of eastern Ohio so similar locale to your work environment. Also check out the Knife Exchange on this forum. There are some unbelievable makers here that sell their knives at great prices. I have purchased a few; Phillip Patton, Navman, Volunteer Knives, David Mary, Carothers, J Hoffman.

I have the scout and SRK in cpm 3v. It’s a good knife, but for some reason, CS put a thinner(?) grip on it than the SRK. I don’t know why they would do that considering the robust size of the blade. With it being the over-molded rubberized grip, I’m not sure what can be done to replace/fix that, but it would also warrant a new sheath to accommodate the new/fixed grip.
Custom handle is easy and doesn't need a new sheath.

Why they didn’t go along that route to begin with I’ll never know. I’m sure the rubber mold is cost effective, but the undersized handle makes me feel like a lot of people aren’t using it to it’s full potential.

I’ll definitely make note of those names. I’m all about helping bladesmiths get a foothold.

ESEE 6 has been serving me well for 15 years. CS SRK-C (with aftermarket sheath) is quickly becoming a favorite. Hundo and a half for both.

Indeed they have the tech to do real handles as seen on the Laredo and Natchez so why not the Trailmaster and recon scout. They also have the tech to make them with full tang too. They keep missing the mark to step it up but they make some of the best production blades.

You can try to look for whatever the OKC M9/M11 that are still available around. They are in 420HC, same stuff as Gerber strongarm.

The Cold steel OSI is decent. A little longer and thicker than a Ka Bar, but in AUS-8 stainless, somewhat tougher than 1095.

I don't think it was mentioned yet...?
For a ton of great fixed knives look at the post/page fixed blades....(Hundreds of pages)

Lots of great people post their favorites.
I have quite a few of Mine there too.
