I began making PL knives in 2016. I've done leather work for over 20. I added kydex to my repertoire in the last few years. The heat treat on all of my carbon steel knives is done by me in a thermostatically controlled Evenheat knifemaking kiln. Each 80CrV2 blade goes through a 3 stage normalization before being heated to austenitic temperature and quenched in Parks 50 oil. Then it goes through a 2 stage tempering process. 80CrV2 Hardness is approx. 61 hc and my heat treat process produces a blade with extreme toughness and fine edge sharpenability. Scales are glued with West Systems G-flex epoxy. My aim is to produce heirloom quality tools with excellent craftsmanship that will provide a lifetime of enjoyment and service.

The flandi is an interesting design. Well done PLackey PLackey
Thanks bud. Yeah, the flandi is an aggressive cutting grind. I really think it's a great option.

200...
Quite much for this steel.
I dont get it
Said mr. two posts…🙄 Guess you’ve never heard of Winkler knives. Same steel, double the cost.

I think the knife’s damn nice and worth every bit of the asking price. Nice design and very well executed.

Agreed.... Nice work.....very reasonably priced for the quality!!!
My favorite color too!
Nice work twice 😉

nice knife, clean lines. Is the flandi edge like a convexed scandi? Just curious too.

It's a chunky-ish flat grind with a scandi secondary bevel. Needs to be thicker behind the edge than you would run a flat grind in order to support the much-more-accute, scandi secondary.

Cuts like a slicey convex, but much more simple to maintain. Just sharpen like any scandi. Or you can think of it as a very thin bladed scandi at the bevel.

Cool. Reminds me of a scandi vex I saw on other knives I have.
Hmm, Scandi vex is, I think, more of a mid to low convex. Flandi is not convex at all. All flat geometry. Hard to see in that pic because the plunge is right against the end of the handle. You can see it better on this pic:
