  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Jack's 'Virtual Table'

So the legends are true.
The streets of Sheffield are paved with cool old penknives..
The double diamond ad takes me back to my Englush childhood. How basic it seems in comparison to more recent beer ads. You are right about collectibilty tho. A beerhead would love that one even if they didnt like knives.

While going round flea markets and antique centre, I sometimes get talking to guys who collect beer paraphernalia, and there is definitely a pecking order in terms of collectibility and pricing. In Leeds, for example, items relating to the old Melbourne Brewery, and Tetley's command higher prices. Older Guinness merchandise commands a higher price, and Double Diamond stuff is also very collectible. I showed another Double Diamond knife to a feller I know from Leeds market, and he practically offered me his wallet, despite having no interest in knives themselves.

What a great visual!!! I certainly prefer seeing knives and ephemera rather than food on a kitchen table. :)
