Been doing a lot of a10'S as of late so I thought I would show a pic of one that I just got done. Last one for this month, and onto more war horse work tonight and the rest of this week:)
Specs:
Blade .140 CPM154 3.25" long, acid stone wash
1/4 pivot with bearing system
.190 Ti frame, sandblasted, satin finish on flats then tumbled

Looks awesome Jake! I'm not surprised at all that you have been making lots of those, its a great design. Nice work buddy
 
That is a great looking design. I love the dark stonewash on the whole thing. :thumbup:
 
I think I now own this beauty! Jakes work blows my mind! Never been so excited over a knife! This things awesome!!!!!!! :D
 
fantastic. :thumbup: Just curious, Jake- how did you mill the slot for the lock (so the lock is seperated from the liner)? It looks like it's about 1/32" so cutting it with an end mill in Ti seems TRICKY at bet.

I use a spitting saw in the mill to cut the lock bar portion, the I use the band saw to free the lock face. After that I bend the lock out and clean it up with a carbide end mill.
 
Thanks for the info Jake. I have a slotting saw as well (I think 1/16" but maybe it's thicker), but yours looks pretty thinner than mine. Also, great work with the radius transition from the band saw cut to milled slot- looks spot on.
 
On this one I think my slit is about .035 or so wide. About the same as the band saw cut:) works well.

I think is just put my foot in my mouth. I have until this point only done frames by hand. This frame is the first from the batch I got in from waterjet. I have great lakes cut this frame for me. I forgot that I didn't have to cut the lock on this one, only clean it up! Sorry guys. I went back and looked at the pics and realised my mistake.

Most of my bread and butter designs will be rough cut by waterjet now. Which means they are cut oversized and I grind them down and build the rest. Saves me a great deal of time pushing it through the band saw!
