For sale is a bush sword by James Helm. This was first posted on his blog on September 18, 2015 and was offered at the Usual Suspects show that year. I purchased it second-hand from the first owner.
Blade is about 18" overall with an incredible tapered blade. The widest portion of the blade has considerable thinness to it, so while it looks like a broad machete, it has the finesse of a Chinese oxtail dao. The handle is 6" OAL with a socket tang construction and epoxied paracord wrap and turkshead knots. Everything about this sword hints at old school Helm - the long, aggressive clip point, the socket tang, the 5160 steel and kydex (vs. 80CrV2 and boltaron with flat tangs, his current norm).
The blade is super sharp and the clip is semi-sharp near the front. Some scuffing from handling but as far as I can tell it's never been used in any true capacity (chopping, etc). I have only played with it, so aside from some cosmetics it's virtually mint.
The price is $400 shipped, Paypal included. International sales subject to shipping repricing.
