Here is an early model bush sword by James Helm. I got it from him at a Blade Show, either the first or second one he went to, if I remember correctly. It is the older style, metal-rolled-into-an-oval handle wrapped in waxed cord (I think). It is unused by me; has been sitting oiled in a Craftsman tool drawer for years.

I’m pricing it at $400 plus shipping; but, I would rather trade it, to be honest, for one of his old Zombie Slayers in similar condition, like he had in his older avatar pic:

As I remember, he had both on the table at the show; and I spent a while agonizing over which one to get!

Anyway, if you have a spare James Helm Zombie Slayer, and you’d like one of his older bush swords, this one is up for grabs, provided it doesn’t sell first.

(Even if you don’t want the bush sword, but still have a Zombie Slayer you’d like to sell, please let me know).

Been a while since I’ve seen one of these.

What are the blade and overall length?

Blade is just shy of 15 to where the handle starts; overall is about 21 inches.

Blade steel is a question. I want to say that Mr Helm switched to 80CrV2 well after I got mine….this was an early one. Am I right I’m thinking he started his bush swords in 5160? That’s what is sticking in my head.
