THe Jamestown MTTA living history event approaches. It is on the weekend of March 17 & 18, 2007 and it is at the Jamestown Settlement Park near Williamsburg, Virginia. Since Jamestown is celebrating their 400th Anniversary this year and they have been doing a huge amount of preparation for it, we are expecting that the park will be quite a show, let alone all of us living history folks. If you get there, check out the Anglo-Saxon Camp up near to the Fort. I'll be there, God willing and the creek don't rise. We will be re-enacting a small bit of the 991 Battle of Maldon for our tactical demonstration along with a Viking re-enactment group. We will be doing a shield wall battle. Then we retire to our camp to live out the gathering of the fyrd, the Anglo-Saxon militia.
As we used to say in my youth, "Be there or be square."
