Janitor's Closet. . . Tomorrow Night (Tuesday 1-19-16) At 10:00 pm Eastern!!!. . . .

So do we just email the two addresses saying we want one? Or do we need to include CC info and such in the initial email, or is that done afterwards?

I am going to just send the email, I figure if I get one they will let me know tomorrow. I doubt they will up taking orders. Just my two cents though. I may be wrong.

Send email to both addresses, indicating what you want. Be specific. If you score, a reply will come from the shop. Might take a few days. It will tell you what to do

That about sums it up

The gentleman knife looks freaking awesome, but I can't justify another blade in the size range even if it is sexy and Elmax.

Couple of nugget-stabber questions:

1) Are these the only two ELMAX offerings or will there be more (next day, next week, next month, et al)?

2) Since these are old stock, sitting around taking up space, will they be charged and shipped immediately upon ordering or will there still be a week(s)-long delay on processing?

Is Busse's Elmax any different than say ZT's or any other brand ? Different heat treat ? Maybe ? Better edge holding ?
(Not that other Elmax is bad) just curious

The question I have, is what do you guys think the pros/cons of SR101 and Elmax?
Elmax would have better corrosion resistance, and possibly better edge holding,,, Sr101 tougher?

That's what I would expect. I have a scrapevore cg, which is harder than most sr101 (hc 60-62 I believe), and my elmax ZTs still seemed to hold their edge better. Then again they were thinner at the shoulder and I never actually did any deliberate testing so that's just anecdotal, I'd be shocked though if sr101 isn't tougher, but in this size that isn't as important.

And to themtnman, I saw another thread were that question was asked, there was never an answer as to whether Busse puts it through the extra long heat and cryo treatment or not, but a few different people said they didn't find it noticeably better that other makers elmax.

With the extra hollow grind. These may we'll be some of the best slices Busse has put out recently!

My experience with all Busse Elmax is that it is superb for slicing holds a great edge. Steel from the mill has a heat treat protocol however most makers will test the protocol and do coupon tests at different heat ranges and soaks to determine the best results which we know Jerry will do with all his steels to get the most from them.... so if its from Busse/Kin you can count on it having excellent heat treatment....

woo hoo :)

Just a FYI these look like they will fit in the regular Max AD sheaths I make.
If you want to get a jump on them.

Look good, priced good, love elmax, but, I'm more than covered for blades this size. Congrats to.those lucky enough to get one or both.

Anything being released tomarrow?

Elmax would resist rust far better than SR101. The edge holding will depend on material, edge angle and cutting style.
Elmax is high wear resistance steel that will hold an edge very good on abrasive material especially with low cutting force/impact and high degree of edge angle. SR101 will has much better edge strength so it will withstand low degree acute edge or hard use better than Elmax.
