Jantz blade quality

I'm curious to know how the blades from Jantz compare in quality to some of the big name manufacturer's blades. For example, a $20 blade blank steel is roughly equivalent to a $60 kabar in terms of steel quality.

Certainly there are many many models, so I'm just looking for a rule of thumb or an example or two.

Thanks

The ones made from AUS8 are pretty decent. Will make ok knives, until you get the itch to grind your own.

Just FYI

Most of the same patterns are available from Texas knifemakers supply with cryo.

I did up a Green river paring knife from their utility/steak pattern. No problem getting it scary sharp and hold a good working edge for around 6 months with daily use.

Also did a Green River fillet. Brother-in-law loves that thing, LOL.

Just thought I'd share my experience.

I put one of their AUS8 folder kits together a year ago. The factory edge grind was pretty un-even, but it sharpened up nicely. Edge retention is decent, and about what I would expect at that price.
