This is a design that I've been working on for a while, but only recently got around to finishing. I figured it was easier to put these into one post rather than clutter up the forums with three separate postings.
This is my interpretation of a Japanese style EDC knife that can be either pocket or neck carried. It's essentially a replacement for a folder.
The blade is made from S35VN steel. I performed all heat treat and tempering operations. The blade is tempered to 58 - 59 HRC for excellent edge holding characteristics. The blade features a fine matte finish.
The thickness of the stock is .06; slightly thinner than a dime. This results in fantastic cutting performance! The blade features an extremely high chisel hollow grind, resulting in a very thin and sharp edge.
The thin stock also allows for an extremely lightweight knife, that you literally forget about during the day!
The wrap is nylon, and is impregnated with epoxy to prevent unraveling or moisture retention. The under wrap is a choice piece of sting ray skin.
