Doesn't look like a slipjoint, but rather a friction folder.

If you look closely there's an internal back-spring.![]()
Necro thread bump!
I have the same exact knife as the OP pictured, anyone know where it came from originally?
I think 42 was right calling it a clad douk douk. I have one or two small American knives with similar construction.
Jack, did you ever get one of the Japanese ones?

Got at Amazon, sold as a "Morris" electricians knife w/slitting blade, Morris also has the same w/hawkbill. I saw the replies in the other thread, and yes, it is not finely finishedI've seen the same knives on searches sold under different brands. Chinese, stainless. Has a soft snap&a nail groove. I think I paid 12 dollars or so for it.
Good blade type for working rope&cordage, has a nice lanyard eye. Hand-filling, and the protruding portion of the blade at the ricasso actually works (whether or not it's a conscious addition) to support the index finger in use. I like work knives, but I'm browsing GEC's since I came to the blade forums, they're beautiful and I'm going to acquire one*.
