Those are of middle eastern design rather than Japanese, unless you mean japanese made.

Very nice knives Jill. I see you even have one with collectors numbers on it. They've never exactly been common in this part of the woods. I've never seen one at a gunshow down here.

Looks like the screws have been replaced in the bottom knife, or they were from a different run built to slightly different specs. I don't know enough about that model to be able to say.

I bet those teeth could in fact bite! :)

They are made in Japan, was what I meant by Japanese. The first ones were made with a solid back and pinned. That's why the bottom one is screwed and it's open backed construction instead of with the closed back. The top one is the rarer of the two. (look close you can see the difference in the back)

C59 Shabaria designed by Eduard Bradichansky. IIRC, this knife was unique at the time having the highest blade-to-handle length ratio for a folder of that size. I think the only knives that could match it today are the ridiculously large ones like CS Voyager. Or the BM LFK (but that's cheating.:D).

Funny, Joe the bottom one came from your state.;) Yes they are both, very sharp!

I don't think I've missed but 1 gunshow in near 18 years and haven't seen one yet. It's a fairly large state with a lot of gun & knife stores, especially to the west. Just because I haven't seen them doesn't mean other people haven't.

When that came out there was only one serious knife store in the region. It's too expensive for me though. It might have come out of there. They still have a lot of older spydercos on the shelves because they never discount below MSRP. He does have a good selection though.

Nice knives Jill....heh heh heh! :)

Another, funny thing is the bottom one not only came from N.C. (off eBay) the man said he'd got it from a gun show!:D

You're killing me here Jill. It must have been the gunshow I missed when I was doing my astronaut/secret agent refresher training. :) Joe

Mastiff, are you going to Davi's Tip of the Blade this weekend?

Probably on saturday afternoon. Those always are fun, though there's not much room. You?

Jill, very nice picture of that Spyderco. That blade has a wicked look to it for some reason. Makes me wish I had one. Joe

Very nice picture, Jill. Nice tattoo as well.

Thanks! The nails don't look that good most the time, but I fixed them up to go with my new tattoo, just for the effect. That Blade does look sorta wicked in my hand! Probably more so than a big hand!

I may have to take a few pics of me holding knives, just to show off my tattoos. I don't do my nails, though.
