I've always wondered what the point of layering the folder in these photos would be. Obviously it isn't for added strength; that sucker is 2.9mm thick ! Compared to the kitchen knife at 1.9mm which is much more reasonable to add a little reinforcement to. And on the folder the 2.9 goes most of the length of the blade where as the fixed blade is MUCH thinner even at mid length.
I polished the beveled area and was getting into this folder many years ago when it dawned on me what a POS it is. Too thick ! ! ! ! frail handle for such a thick blade; bendy brass that is quite thin; not a good match for this timber toppling blade . . . I mean . . . what are they thinking ?
Maybe some day I will grind it about half as thick but that still leaves that handle . . . slick, not comfortable . . . awesome blade in the right handle after a little grind, grind.
