I needed to clean up a couple of small trees that died. They were too small for my full size Collins axe. I looked around the garage a found a tool that I had forgotten about. It is a Lasher bill hook that I bought from Cold Steel over 20 years ago. It did the job nicely and I started to wonder about those Japanese Tosas. Has anyone ever used one?

I remember seeing these at a Japanese nursery a long time ago in Los Angeles, but I never bought one.

WOW I always thought Japanese kips were well mannered. Now we know why. If American schools / daycares started that young we would be all set...

Are you in the right thread?

lol! i read that like 20 times myself and the only thing i could come up with is you mentioned nursery in your op. i have hardly any imagination though so i'm probably way off:p

OK, I get it know. Either that was very subtle humor or iamtoast doesn't know that many of the garden nurseries in the Los Angeles area are owned by Japanese Americans.

I don;t know much of Tosa's but I have 3 old billhooks and they are pretty good chopper/slashers. I waned to get a Cold Steel ine but never fot around to it before they stopped offering them. They trim up limbs nicely. Pat
