In the relatively recent past, I stumbled upon some work offered up in the Exchange by Jarrett Fleming, (
Jarrett Fleming
). How I had missed his work all these years, (like many other talented makers), is a product of my hanging around certain sub-forums on a regular basis, as well as time constraints from having to put out fires on the forums along with my colleagues.
Well, this oversight has now been rectified. I started looking through some of Jarrett's sales in the Exchange and found that his work really resonated with me...both aesthetically as well as from a functional standpoint.
When I came across various sale listings, I found myself hovering over the keyboard wondering what the next knife would be like. So, I finally reached out to Jarrett, shared some images of his work that I liked and asked him to make me a couple of pocket fixed blades in the EDK-1 and Wharncliffe patterns. The rest I pretty much left up to him with one or two mentions of things I wasn't interested in. The same went for the sheaths after discussing which of the available clips would work equally well for pocket or AIWB carry.
Before I get to the images, I'll give the particulars about the material for this "matching" set. Each features the following:
3/32" MagnaCut @61 - 62.5 HRC, with a 2.5" cutting edge on the Wharncliffe, and 3" edge on the EDK-1
Mill scale flats
Hollow satin finish grinds
Green canvas micarta bolsters, natural micarta / OD green G10 spacer, Teak Burl handles
Natural micarta liners w/ OD green G10 pinstripes
Natural micarta pins and tube
To say that I am impressed with the two knives which were just delivered is an understatement. Not only is the workmanship extremely clean and precise, but the lines flow without interruption and the blades are finished admirably with a very keen edge. The feel in hand is outstanding. To top it off, Jarrett's work is an absolute bargain. There's no two ways about it.
And now the knives and sheaths. I'm afraid I can't do justice to the work with my iPhone, but I think you'll get a pretty good idea.

Please feel free to add your comments below. It's a shame that this sub-forum has remained dormant for too long. Hopefully, now folks will have a reason to post in it again.
