recently acquired a Captain - very impressed - if Jason Breeden does custom knives - does anybody know a phone number or web site for his work?
second question -has he designed ( or will he in future) anything else for Spyderco?

Hey,
No I'm not a maker; just a designer.
As for the future, well let's just say that you have not heard the last of me............
I will leave the answer to that question for Mr. Glesser and the wonderful team @ Spyderco

Just wondered if more were to come - hope so ( yah listening Spyderco!). Have been carrying/using biger knives for years - most have been "tactical" designs of one sort or another - simply to get the tip strength I need for daily use ( do not anticipate knife fightin) -read the description of your knife that said you designed it for real world use - including putting a stout tip on it. This knife is simply remarkable for being as compact as it is and cuttin big! I'd be in hog heaven except that the next day I got my hands on used ATR - if they haven't sent you one of these -let me know and I'll send you mine for a month or so - the compression lock really is a big deal - not sure you need a longer blade - my preference would be for a more conventional belly ( although the Captain's is growing on me) -but weirdly enough - I'd be real happy with the captain blade in a ATR handle with compression lock - your 3" blade is plenty big enough for the daily tasks my knives are used for. And the 3" length is legal most places that you can have any kind of knife or pointed tool.A longer handle gets the clip back into your hand where it's more comfortable when you are really bearing down on the blade plus allows you to apply more muscle into the blade -something a lot of small blades wouldn't take - but the blade you designed should be plenty strong enough for any reasonable task.
At any rate - great knife and pretty damm inpressive if this is your first design -looking forward to more.
