It is with extreme reluctance that I offer this up for sale. In my hands less than 6 months and I swear this was a "take to the grave" knife but as they say, desperate times call for desperate measures...

This is one of Jason's Sooke Mtn. Choppers made famous by Lorien. I asked for a few changes, first the blade length was pulled out to just under 10".

I also asked for hollow pins so I could attach a forward lanyard, my preferred type for heavy use.

It's W2 steel and Jason thoroughly tested this before sending it out.

This knife has been used lot and cuts like mad. Beautiful geometry and nice weight for chopping but the distal taper gives it great control for such a large knife. The downward pointed tip makes for great "flick" cuts on smaller twigs.

Comes with a sheath from Jason set up for cross draw. I added a removable (chicago screw) flap so it can be carried regular style. Simple and functional.

I only ask that whoever buys this, please check with me before selling it. I may be in a position to buy it back and would still like to take this to the grave. :p

Asking $old shipped.

Here's some pics.

Right after Blade ... :(

I would so like to be your huckleberry, but I'm convinced someone with actual cash will soon come along. This chopper is far too nice to last long.:(:(

I've been asked why the price if a new one isn't much more. Beyond the waiting for it, this is my response.

"Yes it's a modest price drop but once I pay shipping and paypal fees, I'm losing a fair bit on this.
Jason gave me the extra length and modifications for free as I had been a previous customer.

In my opinion, it's the kind of knife that use does not devalue much. It's built to use and the finish is a simple scotchbrite, no hand work. The fact that it's a little stained and I've touched up the edge does not affect the performance of the knife or the fundamental elements of the construction, design, and heat treat."
