Jason Statham's folding knife in The Expendables, what is it?

absolutely a ralph axd.

as mentioned, the lock stop tab and celtic pivot are the obvious giveaways.

In this months blade magazine there is an article on the movie. Most knives were made for the movie by gil hibben. Don't know about this one though

I'm pretty sure it's Darryls. If it doesn't look familiar it's probably custom or at least customized. It's an auto so it's not a SOG or any of the others mentioned.

We went to see Sly Stallones new movie "the Expendables" tonight. It's a knife lovers wet dream. I was surprised to see knives in the movie that Sly got from us as well as a razor (Ceasar) that Sly sent me a picture of months ago in a request to have a larger version custom made. He didn't mention that it was IN the movie just sent had a pic of one like he wanted but wanted it bigger. I suggested the inscription "Slyce" rather than "Ceasar" for his. Sly agreed, Slyce it is. Maybe it will make it into the sequel.

It was pretty cool to have spoken to Sly several times over the past year or so and have him tell me about some of the knife scenes then actually see them.

This movie is a knife nuts fiesta. From Italian stilettos, Custom bowies, LOTS of throwing knives, Darrel Ralph custom auto and on n on.

Here are some pics lifted from the movie as well as the pic Sly sent me of the razor he wants made. The movie is pretty dark so the pics aren't great.

All in all an enjoyable fast paced action flick if you're not too fussy the plot.

Nice interesting post.
I dont suppose you know about the statham throwers do you.
these are a mystery.

seriousely does aniione actually know the name of the knife that Jason Statham uses in the basketball scene...?

Yes it's a Darrel Ralph.
The knife is $725 for the manual and $775 for the assisted.
It comes in either the tanto or dagger blade.
Great looking knife!

Hi
Thanks for the solid words!!!
We are in contract negotiations right now for the AXD 5.5 from the movie.
Please keep your ear to the ground.

We are making customs also.
If you have any questions please email me @

just watched the movie for the upteenth time. Havent gotten tired of it, nor the cool blades.

Is Mickey Rourke's knife a cold steel?

Micky Rourke's knife that he threw into the board in the first scene was a Cold Steel Espada (aluminium frame). I'm pretty sure it was the large size. I'm not sure if Cold Steel recommend throwing their folders though.
