i knew this would come up and i'm sad to say that i have since forgotten. i know originally i asked for s30v but John did not have any in a size large enough for the knife so i went with what he did have in stock. i think this one was made in 154CM. after i saw your question, i sent John an email asking if he could recall - and he says that he's "90%" sure it is 154CM but since his records are in storage he can not be 100% sure.

i am sorry i can't be any more specific.
