Hey jca21,

I don't normally comment on people's PSK's (after seeing a few thousand of them), but recent experience pushes me to comment (not to mention tonight's CRAK [Crown Royal and Coke]).

One important item, if you're hiking solo, is a magnifying mirror for times when you get something in your eye - happened to me the other day and my mirror was at home. :o

do you think the signal mirror will work fine or should i look into a separate magnifying mirror.
 
my eye sights pretty good but if i find a magnifying mirror small enough i'll see if it fits :D

the fresnal 4X lens is sufficient and takes almost no room

a small signal mirror takes very little room either (the AMK is a good one, but still small)

a "10 cent" knife doesn't take up any room- gives you a cutting tool (you can easily sharpen these to shaving sharp) and makes for a great ferro rod striker

maybe I missed it, but a small sewing kit is a must have- a heavy needle or two (I put them in a coffee stirrer- cut to size and then seal the ends- like a fire straw) you can then wrap your fishing line around it

the needle is handy for splinters, popping blisters, etc (besides repair work)
 
small sewing kit would make a great edition if i can find one small enough to fit after alls said and done.

that maxpedition wallet looks awesome!

and that 10 cent knife will definetly be in there. looks like the one m4040 mentions on his website.
