For sale is a small slip joint folder with a 2.25 blade and spring of 3/32 440C stainless steel. The knife is 3.5 closed, including the lanyard loop. Liners are .040 Nickel-Silver. The handle is bull-horn I collected from the Sunday Bullfight in Merida, Yucatan Mexico. I use almost exclusively local handle materials that I gather and mill or process myself. Dense tropical hardwoods as well as wild and ranched deer, cow, bull and water buffalo horns.
The knife opens with a medium-easy pull, the spring is centered and is flush open and closed. There is no half-stop. The blade is hollow ground with a belt satin finish and is delivered shaving sharp.
The silver escutcheon is made from a 1926 ten centavo silver coin and is pinned through the liners. You can still see some of the surface irregularities on the coin. All of the pins are Nickel-Silver and are hammered over and left slightly proud of the handle. The decorative file work and carving are precise and carefully done, but you can also see that it was done by hand I dont sand or polish the file-cuts.
This knife comes in a handmade, hair-on, Mexican bull hide pouch, finished with calfskin Spanish edge lacing.
Price is SOLD including Fedex Economical shipping, insurance and Paypal or Credit Card fees. (shipping outside Mexico or US may be extra)
