I just received this proto Karambit from Rick Haney aka Capricorn61.

The Karambit was designed by Rick and Jeff Hall brought to life.

Brian, that looks sweet ! Good job ! Is there any way to get a close up of the blade ? Take care bro....RDT

RDT,

I will try and get a closer pic. for ya.

Keith,

The reason Rick went the blade design was to make it more of a utility blade then a fighter.

Thanks for looking, Brian

Unless my eyes are fading, that is Steve Tarani holding it in the photo. Frankly that is all I need to know. It must be a sensational karambit, or Steve would not be holding it. Where do I get mine?

ptgdvc,

My apologies to everyone. I used the book as a back drop only. The one Steve is holding in the book is a large trainer. Please don't think that Steve has endorse this Karambit.

Thanks, Brian

Keith Montgomery:

I'd like to see the same thing, more curve in the blade.

The Tarani karambit is from an original Karambit hundreds of years old he brought back from Malaysia.

His has the curved blade and the malays have used it as a utility knife for centuries, and developed techniques to use it in a defensive mode as well as they were carried by everyone. Sorta became their SAK in that culture.

I'd also like to know the steel used and handle material as well.

brownie,I originally intended on a blade with more curve to it,But felt most people would use it more if the blade curve was more utilitarian.Strictly a design decision.:D Jeff used 154CM for the blade,Black G-10 with cool millwork texturing for the handle material.Jeff's work is sweet!

RL,I'll be hanging out with Randall16-1 at the karambit.com booth.I'm looking forward to meeting Steve Tarani!

154cm--------One of my all time favorites. BTW--I do like it and think it would be very effective in defensive mode.

Have to agree that the straighter blade on that one will be more utilitarian generally. Just a "little" more curve would have been nice though.
