Hi folks, some of you may know of JEFFERY here's a link to his profile page

We've communicated through the years and always been a straight shooter, he recently asked me about how he might go about selling some of his collection, as he is looking to clear out several things that he's collected over the years, like most, trimming down some is a good thing to do. I suggested doing them in batches folders in one, fixed in another and to be concise as to what he has so it's very clear what is being posted. He figures that he will end up doing them one at a time so that would make things easier to handle logistic wise. But in the list of knives he sent me was a Murray Carter neck knife and I made mention that while I'm not quite flush with money at the moment, to keep me in mind when he gets around to putting that one up. I had one a very long time ago and miss it greatly.

Next thing I know...he sends me the Murray Carter neck knife, like what I use to own, probably from the same batch from back in the day, wharncliff blade with Hitachi white steel core and ironwood scales. I was taken back at his generosity but he said he wanted to do that for all the years he felt that I had helped him with things that came up, still floored by this but I am very grateful to him for that gift.

Here is a quick photo of the knife, I sent the photo to Mr Carter to try and get a vintage year but all he could ascertain it was one that he himself had made back before he had other shop helpers with the By Carter markings you see today. I sharpened it up and WOW that Hatachi white steel takes an incredible edge!

in this shot you can see the outer layer and the line just a bit above the edge that shows where the outer layer begins.

Thanks again Jeff and best of luck with your sales when you get going on posting them up!

Thank you! Your post is greatly appreciated. I've sold dozens of knives on BF. Apparently their archive doesn't go back that far. Not exactly new at this
and your kind words have made my day !
Take Care : )
