Jennifer Wilbanks found alive!!!

One thing I haven't seen, (I would like to think because its none of my business, but of course everything is everybody's business these days), is the answer to the following question:

Are these people loaded or what?

A 600 person wedding with 28 in the bridal party can't be cheap!!!

Jeez! It's only 600 of their "closest friends". It's not like they invited ALL of them.;):D

Just the senator or representative that will sweep this unfortunate incident under the rug ;)

Jeez!

The thought of all of those thank you cards for wedding gifts would make me bolt.

Off-subject... what's up with her eyes? She looks perpetually startled.

Took some time to research due to the low incidence of this affliction but it turns out she's rattle-pated.

This is a hyperactive condition of the III, IV and VI cranial nerves and the muscles that control the eye movements are overstimulated by inputs from the occulomotor, trochlear, and abducens nerves. Possibly triggered by intense external stimuli - like poppin' flashes from the paparazzi pics present at the planned petite pre-nupitual party (wedding rehersal). The Albuquerque officials were aware of this and threw that colorful poncho on her head so as not to initiate another attack.

She didn't run away....it's just really hard to drive home when yer eyeballs become uncaged like that.

Nothing like reviving a dead thread for a cheap laugh at someone else's expense - schadenfreude rocks!!!

I knew someone with this affliction. She was super-model material but was really self-conscious about her eyes. Poor girl. I never even thought anything abot it until one of her family members mentioned that nobody should mention her eyes. I didn't even know what the heck they were talking about until somebody told me about this disease. It's not like it bothered anyone else; she never had trouble getting a date, that's for sure.

Hey, they're always looking for actresses to work in Horror films. All she'd have to do is be able to take her top off and scream real loud. :D

For WHAT? It may have been highly inconsiderate and irresponsible, BUT...

This is still America isn't it? What happened to freedom?

People have the freedom to move about as they choose. She has the freedom to leave town if she wants. (She ISN'T married.) There is no law that requires you to tell people where you're going. She didn't ask for anyone to make assumptions, or call out a search party, or to create a media circus.

She simply left town and didn't tell anybody, which, like it or not, everyone has the FREEDOM to do in America. ;)
She can be charged with making a false report. She claimed she was kidnapped which she was not. Because of that false report valuable police resources were used to try to find her and their hard work was wasted on a liar.

Can they make her responsible for all the money that they spent looking for her before she made her false claim? I think that she lied about the kidnapping when she called the police right before they picked her up so that there wasn't actually much that happened after she lied. I guess what I'm asking is whether they can "backtrack" to when she first disappeared to find her guilty of a bigger crime.

There is a great deal of heat and leverage being applied to the law enforcement agencies over this !

Of course, Jennifer has had some problems with the law in the past.

So, many Joe-Jans aren't too happy right now with Jennifer. :D

Amazing. . . .today she checked herself into a hospital for voluntary treatment. . . physical and mental issues

Both fathers are big muck a mucks in the community. Money talks!

They could probably hire a pretty good lawyer just for what that 600 person wedding was costing

That's funny. This is what I found (though I admit I didn't search very hard! This was the first thing that popped up.)

rattle-pated - Collaborative International Dictionary of English v.0.48 :

Rattle-pated \Rat"tle-pat`ed\, a.
Rattle-headed. "A noisy, rattle-pated fellow." --W. Irving.
[1913 Webster]

rattle-pated - WordNet (r) 2.0 (August 2003) :

rattlepated
adj : lacking sense or discretion; "his rattlebrained crackpot
ideas"; "how rattlepated I am! I've forgotten what I
came for"- Glenway Westcott [syn: rattlebrained,
scatterbrained, scatty]

So that may or may not describe this chick!

There are actually a few deficiencies and diseases that have exopthalmos or bulging eyes as a symptom. Graves disease is one of a list of thyroid disorders that can lead to the wide or bulging eyed look. Marty's wall-eyed look was a result of injuries and a botched operation in his childhood. One of the fun diagnostic tests we used to test for causes of vertigo is called a caloric vestibular test where you irrigate a patient's ears with warm, then cool, then icy water and watch their eyeballs go haywire. Nystagmus is the small wobble built into the eyeballs as they constantly correct and focus on something. The vestibular/cochlear response is tied in with neural pathways that control eye movement and lesions on the nerves will cause exegerated movements or even strabismus (unusual misalignments of the eyeballs) when the era is flooded with cold or icy water. Great fun to do and watch but irritating as hell for the patient. Adle-pated or rattle-brained is more along Ms Wilbanks doe-in-the-headlights look suggests to me.
