I've very recently concluded buying a Neo from Jens as well as getting support from him due to some issues that I'm happy to say are resolved. I'm very happy with the outcome and his customer service.
When I received my Neo it had an issue where the pivot appeared overtightened (likely was just excess loctite getting into the pivot area), it would not flip, and the blade did not seat deeply into the handle allowing the tip to poke out. Since he uses proprietary hardware (he offers the tool if you ask him), I was not able to easily readjust it. I emailed him asking about how to open it, but was impatient.
Eventually I did manage to open it by filing a flat head screwdriver to fit, but then found that the stop pin was rattling inside the knife. Thinking it was broken again I emailed Anso about a return.
He promptly emailed back responding point by point to my concerns with transparency and understanding, while also giving me tips for how to fix my knife. He did also offer a full refund and to cover the return shipping, despite that not being his stated policy on his site. He definitely cares about his customers satisfaction, that was immediately apparent.
He revealed that the stop pin is intentionally not press fit to allow some needed slop to balance the tight tolerances of the rest of the knife allowing for less chance of misalignment, and that he uses a bit of loctite to keep it in place. That loctite was likely removed by me when I opened it or when I tried blowing KPL into the pivot with compressed air before. Once I applied a bit of loctite to the stop pin on one side the issue went away, and the knife has been perfect since.
The knife is, frankly, fantastic. It's a work of art that is also designed in such a way to be absolutely wonderful in use, which is just my preference. I decided to keep the knife, and I now feel very confident with any future purchases I make with Jens Anso. I know when I made my original pre order I could not find any feedback for Anso so I'm happy to be able to rectify that.
