I saw the prototype at Blade and I want Spyderco to put this knife into production. :) Forget the full size Calypso sprint run, the Rock Lobster will be the knife to have. 4 1/2 inch(probably 4" for production piece) blade, contoured G10 on one side, frame lock on the other. Very nice looking knife. Here is a pick of a custom Rock Lobster:

Personally, I would still prefer a full-sized Calypso with choils and the lock back. I am not much of a fan of liner locks.

actually im more into the mini rock lobster. i just like a smaller, more utility type knife.

Jens' mini rock lobster framelock is a blade I've been coveting for a while. :)

yea, if i didn't just drop a big chuck of change to get my Walther barreled i think i would have bought one.

That one in the pic is an Anso knife isn't it? I thought it was spelled with an s anyway. Close to a $300 knife as I recall if it is the mini and the large is way up there. Nice looking knives though and I rather like the blade shape. RWL-34 blade steel I think, with G-10 scales. I like this guys work. http://www.ansoknives.com/

I heard you can see more on the Usual Suspect Network Forum also.

Wow, VERY nice design, though I prefer something pointy.

Hey STR, theres and unwritten rule about referring to that particular forum...something with an ongoing dispute (yea, it sucks)

Never heard anything about that. Besides are you saying we can post photos of the knives and have discussions on them but just no links? What sense does that make?

Most Spydies feel more ergonomic to me than the proto I saw at Blade.

Spyderco really does an incredible job of ergonomic design.

I don't see it's advantage over other spydies (calypso jr., rescue, mili) other than its handle material and grinding.

looks cool, nice blade shape, framelock.

Maybe I didn't look carefully enough, but I though the Spydie proto was a liner.
