Jeremiah Johnson is on AMC right now!

Great movie. Worked for a short while at Sundance clearing ski runs during the summer and fall of '72. Recognized some of the scenery used in the movie and tried to imagine being there over a hundred years earlier while I watched the movie.

Just to bump this baby, the movie is on again tonite Dec 27 at 8:00pm EST on AMC for those who care. May have to DVD it this time.

i finally caught it..thanks for the heads up...WHAT A GREAT MOVIE! Cannot believe it took me so long to watch it...lots of cool stuff regarding survival and such on there!

I rank that movie right up there with Mountain Men with Charlton Heston and Brian Kieth. Getting scalped has got to hurt though. It sure leaves a mark!

I remember going to the movie theater and watching it when it first was released. I went back and watched it two or three times afterwards over the next two weeks. Even skipped college classes to watch it at matinee price during the day.

Then went out and bought me a Hawkin's gun in 50 caliber the next week. Been shooting it ever since...hunting and competitions.

Watch your Top Knot!

"Were it worth the trouble, Pilgrim?"
..."What trouble?"

Yeah, I like this movie!

And the story of the real John Johnston is even more remarkable! And he carried a large Sheffield Bowie as his "survival knife!"

I've read it a few times, and the other book the movie is adapted from "Mountain Man" by Vardis Fisher.

John "Liver Eatin" Johnston was a VERY colorful character! As I stated earlier, he carried a large Bowie, and a pair of Colt Walker revolvers, was involved in the Civil war, and went back to the mountains after said conflict. The book CROW KILLER is an excelent read!

FINALLY got to see the whole movie!

Have always loved it but never got a chance to see the entire movie, LOL.

Thanks for the information, greatly appreciated.

On again tonight in case anyone's sitting home.

Watch yer top knot! ;)
