I have for sale an unused bowie by Jerid Johnson.
It has a 7 5/8” 5160 blade that is hand-satin finished, edge-quenched, and flat ground with a convex edge.
(Edge is as sharpened by maker)
The handle is a nice piece of Walnut with a Twisted Nickel Damascus guard/ferrule and stainless steel pin.
It is 12 ¾” overall and includes a custom leather sheath by Russ Green.
Note:
There are a few small specks where surface rust started to form (now cleaned off). The only one immediately noticeable is the one that shows up like a small dark line in the photo (logo side). The next one that might be caught in casual examination is a small grey blur on the same side of the blade, just a couple of inches closer to the handle. The remaining few are much lighter and harder to see unless inspecting for them. These might clean up with steel wool or a “steel eraser”-I used only Simichrome polish to remove the rust in order to preserve the otherwise excellent hand-rubbed satin finish.
This worked to take the rust off, but left the darker/grey spots. This was 5 years ago when I was trying different steel preservation treatments. There have been no further issues since this time and the knife has been treated with Ballistol during this period. I can send potential buyers hi-rez photos. I believe that the photos in this ad are pretty representative of what you would see on casual inspection. Which is to say they aren’t immediately obvious, but are there.
I was originally going to ask $495, but seeing more than the one mark I saw in my initial inspection, I am reducing to $450 shipped, including fees-Paypal preferred. The difference would likely cover a large portion of any cost to refinish.
The Fine Print:
I am not currently interested trades, as I am looking to make my collection more manageable.
Email works better for contacting me, but I also check PM. On multiple offers, I will go down the list in order of PM/email received (not posts to this thread).
Paypal is strongly preferred, but I may accept Money Orders from USPS and Western Union depending on the circumstances. Included in the price of the knife is shipping to the 48 CONUS with delivery confirmation/tracking and insurance. Shipping to other destinations will incur charges.
I will ship to other countries, but I will NOT lie on customs forms and the buyer assumes all risk associated with clearing customs. Also, I must be able to verify that it is legal for me to ship this knife to the requested country.
