Jerry, Basic 15 LE Please!!!

Why not .25"?

It would add some mass and stiffness for chopping and batonning,
but not too much so...

I think .25 is the infi sweet spot,
I wish my BWM were so.

The BWM is a much shorter convex grind with a heavier handle to counter balance it, so .25 would work, ie CGFBM.
Have you used a 1311 yet? It works awesome at 3/16" thick with the 13"+ sabre grind and is balanced perfect for what it is designed for with the lighter res-c handle.
More mass at an even longer length being held with just one hand would start to become very hard to wield accurately.
In reality, an INFI 1311 would be perfect.

Done in INFI, it might be too expensive for a machete. I keep pitching for an 18" machete, Res-C handle, made of 1/8" SR77.

.20 or less for something this long. Anything over that Ill leave for the queen collectors : )

Eta- i dont think even an infi b15 will help me put the 1311 down. I just cant imagine it being any better of a performer. Use one and see for yourself. An infi version would cost well over 2-3x and even if it outperformed would it be worth the extra cost?

Etax2- wrights brown sugar bacon sucks. Go with smoked, steakhouse, applewood, or maple

My 1311's will be here tomorrow. Can't wait to test it out! The 1311 looks like a winner all the way around. I think alot of guys are going to realize how amazing thin blades are when they use their 1311's. A long, tall blade from thin stock is the way to go for a chopper.

Yeah, the more time I spend using the 1311, the more I am convinced that it pretty much is closest thing to the grail all around chopper we have all been waiting for.
Make it out of INFI, add a talon hole & you have the perfect all around chopping solution.
Pair that with your favorite 3-7" blade and you are set for pretty much anything.

Couldn't agree more on this.....

I was hoping Dan would elect to make the 1311 out of INFI, but I can understand why he chose not to (price).

I just thought something as epic as the 1311 should have been made out of INFI, regardless of price.

Maybe Jerry will help us out and cater to those who want something along the lines of the 1311, but with INFI and a talon hole.......;);)
