Top knife = less than $100

Well for one thing it is just like the AR market... there are teir 1 makers and there are not. Not everyone buys teir one and they dont have to. I choose to and wait until I can afford it. I also like the fact that i have bought a busse knife that if I break it by using it hard it will be replaced NO questions asked. Not "hey are you the original owner....".... not hey did you try to cut down a tree with this or what.... Send it back and Busse will make it right... thats what you are paying for. Not to forget the INFI and the design. It is worth it to me and I now plan on buying a couple more Busse's when I can afford it. This is a knife for your life and maybe pass it down to your kids. Thats like passing down the Winchester model 1870 quality, originality... so many reasons.

>>> Top knife = less than $100

Scrap Yard lists 5 knives < $100 on their website, none of which are currently available from Scrap Yard. On the secondary, they most likely will not be offered at factory prices.

IMO, getting Bussekin knives is a little bit more difficult than it needs to be. I do believe, however, that it's worth the effort.

Nobody should give price gougers any business. I have never paid a premium for a knife, and generally sell at a loss.

Getting them is too easy. Anyone can do it. There are always more knives than I have money.

Some people expect to buy them off the shelf at walmart and complain when they find out they can't.

Never seem those Walmart shoppers here - Have you? I think the Boss has a pretty damn good marketing plan already

Your right, I choose not to spend that kinda money.Im not dissin BUsse, scrap/or swamprat. I just wish it would be easier to get thats all. For the past five years ive wanted one but have never been able to get one. Ive been on here for 5 years. learned so much from everyone here. I love this site. its the only site i go to really.

That is a MASSIVE overstatement.

Getting a Sog, spyderco, Ka-Bar etc is easy. To my knowledge their not at wal-mart, or at least the ones near me. Getting a Busse involves

a) waiting years for the model you like to become available
OR
b) paying upwards of 500 dollars to a random paypal account of a guy you met on blade forums.
OR
c) getting lucky enough to catch them at an event

Then having a custom sheath made...

Personally I don't think they will ever release their knives on a permanent basis, that would decrease their collectability. But it would be cool if they released a few 'no frills' user models that a normal Joe could just go to their site and buy.

Talk about massive overstatements. . .

They used to do the regular line thing, and wait times were creeping into Randall territory.

Busse knives are a factory direct item, not a massive production company that distributes to every online seller and retail chain. You cannot compare them to "Sog, spyderco, Ka-Bar etc"

As an added bonus, the current production schedule has brought to light a wide variety of nifty stuff that a stodgy years-long backlog of standard models would have prevented from seeing the light of day.

Now that right there is the best reason not to do that.

I did not know that they had done this previously and couldn't keep up with the demand with their small shop.

And no, they should not expand to meet such a demand. EVERY time I've seen a company try that, their quality DID go WAY down, to the point that what used to be a highly sought after brand became something to be shunned.

IMO that reason alone, is good enough to close the subject for me.

increase in revenue is pretty hard to do without an increase in production. i persoanally would like to see a select 2-4 models constantly available. i thought it had been mentioned briefly like 4-6 months go by the boss man?

Ever study the supply and demand principle? :D

I agree with everything said there, but you cant compare busse to sog or anything else. Thats like sayin that "springfield armory is just as good as Wilson combat, nighthawk". You cant compare. Ive shot all mentioned above. SA is sweet but its not as good.

I wouldnt pay for that either. On a side not I saw a greenberet randall and i held it. It didnt feel like a $400 (at the gun show) knife. I would pay 150 for it. Not 450. Regardless of brand name, product, company, If you offer more and make it more availible then you would have more money. Isnt that what every buisiness owner is all about making money and turning out a quality product? at least thats what i thought it was. Oh and Iim not being sarcastic or snoddy. Not trying to fight with anyone

~100 bucks for a Scrapyard Regulator... Best deal on any knife I have ever seen. I'm not a big fan of the Busse knife group but they do put out some AMAZING knives at AMAZING prices if you tally up what you get.

Availability of a Basic lineup in SR101 would be great. Can't recommend a knife to someone that they can't buy, grab a gift with an unknown delivery date, or make an impulse buy when something isn't available.

Me personaly, I wont spend that kinda money on a peice of steel that doesnt shoot bullets. 2, Your right, I dont want to pay after market Outragouse prices. there way to expensive and Hard to come by. busse is the $3000 custom 1911's. there still gonna break and there still gonna need maintenice. So why? i would love to have a busse, and a $3000 custom 19110.but there way to expensive. EVERYTHING BREAKS.

Yes i wish they would come out with more knives. I personaly think if they would make more avalible then more people could buy them. that is why i cant and wont buy these three brandname knives.

It is all relative! I own Busse, Swamprat and Scrapyard knives. They are fantastic pieces of steel. They have their customer base and obviously do very well. Would they sell more if they did a cheap knife, yes, but that is not who they are. I would save your pennies you won't be disappointed.

As far as I can tell, production has vastly increased in the last several years, and they sell all the knives they make, so I think they are doing fine.
