Jerry Halfrich ivory HTT

Nice Combination of Materials Mike. Knife is very unique with Jerry's Design and the Bark Ivory. Jerry is just as accomplished a Knife Maker as his buddy Mr. Linebaugh is Pistol Maker. Congrats to you both and thanks for posting pix.

You both should be proud of that one for sure. Gorgeous knife!:cool:

Beautiful new addition to your fine collection Mike. Congrats amigo! :)

I think you should pass the knife around to all of us who want to feel its silky, smooth glassy texture!!! Starting with me!!! :-D

Jokes aside, you have an absolutely beautiful knife. Good luck!!!

I might still need a few more knives. :)

The passaround would be a great idea except this knife seems to be stuck to my hand.

Jerry said he will start making two-blade patterns very soon. Can't wait to see them.

If mammoth ivory has been out of the ground and properly dried for several YEARS it remains stable. The problem is most has small cracks or soft damage (rot) from being in the ground for 10,000+ years and then in a warmer enviornmemnt to dry. So, most is or should be stabilized. The interior ivory, if not cracked from drying, is ususally stable even without any treatment.

I think adding a second blade makes a knife 4 times harder to make...just sayin. :D

I wonder how you would know that? :) Those squirrels are getting tired of waiting...

Redrummd, this is bark elephant ivory, but thanks for the info on mammoth.

"Jerry told me he’s proud of this knife, and I’m proud to own it."

You said it all.

That's a beautiful knife, Mike. Nice score. Mr. Halfrich is really tempting me to suspend my rule about not buying stainless steel knives.

I know for a fact that Jerry can make you a knife with 52100. ;)

I like it all, Mike, the bolster, swedge, everything. I especially like the lines in the ivory. Just the right amount of accents. This knife would make a pachyderm proud.
