Jerry Halfrich: "SLR"

I like it also, A little knife like this is fantastic for gutting Trout or most any fish, an when your in a boat, there soo handy to take out of a neck sheath an cut line an get back to fishing quickly. you'll never want to go fishing with out it . My vote! It's a Winner. Sincerely, Joe Allen.

I especially like carrying the knife this way late at night when I take my dog out for his last walk of the day.

Out here in the country it's pitch dark out with no lights but for those of the neighbor's homes (and most of them are out by that time of night).

Carrying the knife in this fashion allows it to be accessed and deployed easily and the shape of the scales and serrations allow it to be indexed without the assistance of the small hiking headlamp I carry with me.

No knives make me lust any more but that one comes dern close especially now that I can see it's equally beautiful on both sides!! Just stunning!

Thanks, Peter. Jerry's work is outstanding and I'm fortunate to have both fixed blades and folders by him.

If you like "neck knives" in general, click on this link which connects to a small album of mine containing neck knives by a group of outstanding makers (many of whom are good friends):

And here's a bonus shot of the SLR alongside Jerry's "Hunter" from last year's Blade Show:

I don't care for a choil myself. When I flip the blade on my LB-5 Ultralight upside down it doesn't hang up on tendons or the hide. Jerry's CPM 154 CM edges don't roll like some do.

Those scales are something else.

WOW Elliot. That is one nice knife. Well both of them. WOW! I would say that is a perfect size and looks like a perfect design. I would consider that a dream knife. That is definately a keeper. Congrats. I am sure you will really enjoy them. Especially since you had a hand in it.

Thank you Bill (and everyone else for that matter). I am very pleased with the knives but even more fortunate (in truth) that Jerry has become such a good friend over the past couple of years. Just makes the knives that much more special.:thumbup:
