.....SHBM???? I have seen apprentice Mean Streets, SHBAs, and Steel Hearts, but not a Battle Mistress. Below are some comparison pictures, the black micarta handles have the same grooving and edge radius. The tube fasteners are the same goldish color that came on the SHBMs. The blade is kind of the shape of a BME though and has kind of a mini Birds Beak butt. I am real curious to here from Jerry on what it is.

Back away from the grinder...............Grinducci

Or we may have another ugly warden.

Hmmmm....me suspects that's not a Busse. Or at least not one that came out of Combat HQ.

I hate to tell ya this, but it's a fake. Blade's too short, no Talon hole, Lanyard hole is up near the spine... Heck, even the choil's too round...

But you're in luck. Because I collect faux Busse's, I'll give ya $100 for it! And that's being generous because I'm a giver like that.

I know what the sale ad said, but when I received it and compared it to my other SHBMs, the micarta scales, thick smooth black finish, gold tube fasteners, it looks like a Busse apprentice knife. If Tim Lawson made it and did work for Busse, it had to have been made at Busse, so I'm guessing it is an apprentice knife. I hope Jerry makes a comment.

It looks like the first generation of Ranger RD9's. Exactly minus the SHBM scales.

I'd heard the first RD9's were made from Busse blanks....might be that it's true and this is really an apprentice knife made off the same blanks that were bought by Justin at Ranger.

Just speculating so no one get all fumed :p Compare pics though and you'll see what I'm talking about.

If that's the case then it's made of 5160 steel too :D definitely a good thing!

jerry had a big sale of them here on the boards a while back, as well as dagger blanks.

I think it's a Busse... considering those blanks are all over in this pile.

Can't really say if its an apprentice or not.

I see alot of highly sought after blanks in that pile. Looks like a BAIII or ABA up towards the right top corner.

There's a lot of really cool stuff in there if you weed thru the pic. :D
