Does anyone know what brand and TPI is best for creating saw cuts on filiework and bolster material? I had a saw once but the frame was such that tension on the blade could not be easily tuned.
Most any brand of jeweler's sawframe will work.French,German or Swiss made are preferred though.like anything else it is experience that matters, not always the tool. i can do the same quality work with a $9.00 frame as i can with a $60 frame. just a guess on TPI for what you are wanting to do would be a #2 to #0.

I agree with Shakudo and just wanted to add that though the saw frame does not make much difference the quality of the blades you get does, don't buy the cheap ones in the long run you will go through a lot more blades and get frustrated. Buy good quality blades.
