Thank you I really want all you folks to like my knives that is more important than the money,I spent a lot of hours on one knife.
This knife opens and closes easy and smooth,
Beryl

The file work on the back-spring reminds me a lot of Todd Davison's work.( Are your other knives like this?) Never noticed until now.

Beryl, that is a fine looking folder. Very clean, with attention to detail. The filework visible on the inside of the handle is pretty cool.

I've had the pleasure of handling one of Beryl's knives and they are pristine.
Great guy to deal with as well. Very patient.
Thanks again Beryl.

I am new to the forum and I don't know a lot of you fine people, which I hope to rectify. I don't know if this a proper question, but what is keeping this knife from selling. It is a very good knife. Your comments would be very welcome and helpful. This question also applies to the Eureka listed further down the page. Please give me feedback. your comments would be helpful to me.

Sincerely, Beryl

Beryl, In response to your question, theres lots of things that could be the reason a knife doesn't sell right away, but right now is TAX time an most of the hard working people who buy knives are like us, they have to pay there taxes an thats when knives go on the back burner of priorities for a while. So wait out this time period an see how it goes- Plus theres other reasons also, Quality of the knife as they see it an who the Maker is an how Long he's been making knives. That used to be a big part of Who sold a knife an for what Price they got. WE had a saying ( Have you paid your dues yet ) an that was paid by time and selling knives for years, the public wants a seller to be established in the business an have a good name as far as business dealings go. Im not sure how long you have been doing this but it seems you are doing good. Your prices could be a little high for a new guy on the block, so you have to look at all these things to figure out where you stand in a particular selling field , such as Blade Forums. Welcome also Beryl to the Club. Joe Allen-Princeton Ind. Knife maker since 1976.

Beryl, Joe has explained it quite well. The price a custom knife sells for and how quickly it sells, has less to do with the quality of the knife than with the current popularity of the knifemaker. This 'popularity' takes a few years of getting top quality knives 'out there'.
Also, most Custom knives get little to no use and the collector will want one day to sell them to fund other knife purchases.
Except for knives made by a few very select makers, the majority take a big drop in price when the come up for sale on the secondary market. Hence buyers are leary of paying a decent price for a knife from a relatively little known maker because they know it will be difficult to re-sell.
Knifemaking has to be for the love of it because it takes some years to begin to make anything like a decent hourly wage.
All that said, this Swayback does look Great !

Thanks for the feed back,I understand a lot of you don't know me but I became a KMGM in 1976 had to stop in 1995 because of cancer. When I stopped I had knives in 45 states and 6 foriegn countrys.
Started making slipjoints just because I love knives, I won"t take orders because I want to make what I like. Thanks again a great bunch of people on here.
Best Regards Beryl Driskill
