As I posted months ago -- on the AKTI forum, I believe -- it makes me real nervous when LE is pushing an effort to limit citizens rights. Of course, it is easy for prosecutors to credit/blame LE with pushing their own agenda. Experience tells me that prosecutors need to be watched very closely by the citizenry.

This probably sounds sacreligious, but I truly wonder what the ACLU would have done if it had been presented properly to them that honest citizens rights were going to be abridged. I can't forget that they keep helping out the bloody Klan and their ilk.

Doubt any RKBA would have helped, but the fact the law apparently will give cops the "right" to hassle anyone and pat them down sure as hell seems to me to step all over the rights of freedom from unreasonable search and seizure.
