Ok so I lost my beloved para lastnight on a job... it had a str clip and was broken in and everything... so now i must replace it.

Mine had the machined jimping in the choil and on the thumb rest. I have seen many where there is no jimping in the choil, and the jimping on the thumb rest consists of larger, less machined looking ridges.

can someone help me out? i want to make sure i want to get the first one mentioned.

Thanks guys

Losing a nice knife always sucks :grumpy:

You could always go for a D2 Para, that has the same jimping you want and a really great steel too

yeah it sure does... not too hot on the FG handles though. perhaps i can get one direct from spyderco...

Seems to me that all of the recent models have the jimping on both choil and thumb ramp.. Both the black, regular and D2 version's that I once owned from knife works last year all had it... I believe its just the really old ones that dont...
Plus the new D2 one has a few improvements over the other models.

Improvements over the other models? You mean older style (with the ramp jimping) or the current set (with the sharp ridge jimping)?

Older style Militarys and Para's have ramp type jimping one the top thumb rest. It's similar to the style you'd see on the Chinook 3. The newer ones have the jimping you see on the Militarys Liner Lock. It's sharp triangular points.

What TC said. All of the current production Paras and Millies have the fine jimping top and bottom.
