John has hinted that he might like to make a Bowie of some sorts so I thought we'd have some fun and come up with some designs !

Here is one I quickly sketched out this morning...yeah I know it's rough but I'm still half asleep !:o

Good idea! Let`s get some designs going, the only restrictions are no taller than 2 1/2", and no longer than 13" overall. Let`s see them!!!

Hey pit, what about the blade shape of a CS trailmaster and the handle of..........(insert your thoughts here)?

Hey buddy I think the Trailmaster is great but if we are talking regular production makes I think the Swamprat Ratweiler is even better ! I think we can come up with something far better though for John, take a look at the Mineral Mountain Works Bowies and those by Ranger knives and ML Knives !

I have a thing for historical/traditional knives. I really love old bowies and fur trade era blades. I often search ebay for (just to admire) for old ones... this Hudson Bay Company Bowie sold there a few days ago.

I think it would make a fantastic JK!

Cool drawing, Pit. It really reminds me of a Scorpion's tail.

I've been working on a large bowie design for awhile.

Something traditional, but bad-ass.

A fighter, not a survival knife, like the original intent of the bowie design.

Hi Jas79 -

That is almost exactly what I was thinking of when I thought about what a JK Bowie would look like.

I would like to see one in the max size that John could make.

One of those with a Burl handle would be VERY nice.... :D

best regards -

I`m thinking 8" blade, 3/16" thick, 2" tall, and around 13" overall length. Priced at $200 with sheath. What do you guys think?

If I was ordering one up today (and I might if it's being offered) I'd make these minor changes, mostly to scale it down for a better all-arounder (in my opinion).

1) 7" blade
2) 12.5" OAL
3) 1.75" tall
4) 5/32" thick
5) Slightly protruding tang from butt
6) Jimping (thumb serrations)
7) Leather sheath with pouch for Vic Farmer and removable dangler
