JK Bowie ?

If I was ordering one up today (and I might if it's being offered) I'd make these minor changes, mostly to scale it down for a better all-arounder (in my opinion).

1) 7" blade
2) 12.5" OAL
3) 1.75" tall
4) 5/32" thick
5) Slightly protruding tang from butt
6) Jimping (thumb serrations)
7) Leather sheath with pouch for Vic Farmer and removable dangler

You should know by now that I will make damn near anything :D It would still be $200 because I would need to start with 2" stock and grind away!

I`m thinking 8" blade, 3/16" thick, 2" tall, and around 13" overall length. Priced at $200 with sheath. What do you guys think?

Hi John -

I would be in for that - mid summer though.

I just got back from buying the wife her Christmas present, and let's say I could buy quite a few nice custom blades for that little expenditure.

Let me get my existing two orders paid for and then we'll talk about a nice burl handled JK Bowie in the above (YOUR) specs for me in early summer.

best regards -

Yes I should. :) I like Jas79's design so much I say schedule it in with the specs I listed above. Green canvas micarta, yellow liners, two 1/4" brass pins, lanyard hole. If you have access to olive micarta that would be even better. Jas79 can name it since he's the father. Wait...does that make me the mother? No, that's John. :)

If you are serious, shoot me an email with the specs, and I can get it in early March. Jas79, you need to come up with a name!

Thanks Jas. I don't have a bowie in the stable yet, but in March I'll be adding The Beast.

thank you for liking it so much. Now I got to save me some cash to get me one to

John - You think the lanyard hole should go in the handle, maybe replacing the most rearward brass pin but back a little more, or leave the three brass pins and put a hole where the tang sticks out the butt of the knife? Not sure what would look best.

I think I will make that a buyer`s choice. Some more "traditional" guys might not even want the extended tang, prefering a more traditional bowie look.
