JK Camp and Kitchen Utility pass-around knive arrived!

mqqn, I think the micarta knife block is a good idea but, don't you thing that would be a bit on the expensive side? It would probably be a little less work though!

Stomper, I'm looking forward to seeing the paring knife also! That is going to be a heck of a set of kitchen knives! I'm thinking about maybe making a cleaver myself! Later!

You really only need three or four kitchen knives in a set--a chefs' knife of some style, a bread knife (serrated), a utility knife, and a paring knife. I don't think a four-knife micarta knife block would be much more expensive than a quality hardwood one.

Hi folks -

A few more pictures -

Here is a shot of the cool sculpting that Stomper did on the handle - it is really REALLY comfortable to grip.

So I had a little more steak tonight, and of course I used the JK C&K on it, which is like hunting squirrel with a 10 gauge, but it worked very well -

The knife works well as a table knife; it works well between the tines of a fork and slices like nobody's business.

I'll weigh it and take some detailed measurements for the review tomorrow.

best regards -
